GEKA has announced two major accomplishments with their facilities and manufacturing capabilities.
With the expansion of their headquarters in Bechhofen, Germany, GEKA says they have created “a center of excellence for high-precision beauty application solutions.” The facility has nearly doubled in size to 22,000 m² and features “advanced manufacturing technologies” for further development of “high-precision beauty application solutions with innovative production systems designed to strengthen their manufacturing and decoration capabilities.”
New silk screen printing technology and upgraded hot foil printing capabilities will increase the number of cylindrical or conical packaging decorated annually. Likewise, the investment and upgrade in the metallization and lacquering process will increase their output and the level of products’ quality.
More sustainable manufacturing practices are also front and center of the new facility.
In other news, Geka’s U.S. headquarters in Elgin, Illinois, has been awarded a Gold EcoVadis Medal, placing it in the top 5% of companies assessed. Earning an “advanced” rating in overall sustainability performance, the high-precision beauty application provider says they continue to make strides toward more responsible practices.
EcoVadis is the largest provider of business sustainability ratings, assessing over 75,000 companies worldwide. The organization’s experts evaluated GEKA Manufacturing Corporation, confirming industry-leading ratings in four key areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
“We are immensely proud of this award and I would like to thank our dedicated teams for making this possible,” says Brad Thompson, site manager at GEKA Elgin.
