Beauty brands will often make a statement regarding current events, but the recent tragedy during Travis Scott's performance at the Astroworld Festival seems to be a lot for Kylie and Kris Jenner to handle.
Kylie Cosmetics' Instagram went silent after her last post 5 days ago due to backlash over a video she posted of an ambulance trying to make its way through the crowd at the concert. Scott, Kylie Jenner's daughter Stormi's dad, kept performing as eight people died.
Tone Deaf reports that fans said Jenner should've deleted the video when she realized what had happened. She did delete the video afer 12 hours. As an IG Story, it's usually viewable for 24 hours.
Next, Jenner posted a statement to IG stories, which said:
“Travis and I are broken and devastated. My thoughts and prayers are with all who lost their lives, were injured or affected in anyway by yesterday’s events...also for Travis who I know cares deeply for his fans and the Houston community."
She continued:
"I want to make it clear we weren’t aware of any fatalities until the news came out after the show and in no world would we have continued filming or performing. I am sending my deepest condolences to all the families during this difficult time and will be praying for the healing of everyone affected.”
Fans are still unhappy. Some TikTok users are throwing Kylie Lip Kits in the garbage bin.
The Sun speculates that Kylie Cosmetics may lose millions due to lost business partnerships, and reports that a source says momager Kris Jenner is in 'crisis mode.'
The Sun's 'insider source said: “The longer her companies go without being active on social media or promotion, the more sales go down and the less they make from marketing. We're talking potentially millions of dollars in losses."
