Gwen Stefani, the pop star and fashion designer known for her bold red lipstick, is finally launching a makeup brand—GXVE Beauty.
GXVE Beauty debuts at Sephora on March 3rd, and it's marked, "Clean at Sephora."
Stefani posted on her Instagram, "I had so much fun creating this brand over the last three years."
Stefani has partnered with many major beauty brands over the years, such as L’Oréal and Revlon as a brand ambassador—and developed her own collection with Urban Decay's Wende Zomnir back in 2015.
What Does the Name 'GXVE' Mean?
The name, GXVE, comes from Gwen's name. She posted that she has always signed her name since high school, as well as her social media posts over the years, "G" for her name and an "x" for a kiss—"Gx."As for the rest of the name, the brand posted:
"GXVE" is a nod to the endless sharing of inspiration within our community of makeup lovers— celebrating each other's creativity & individuality.
We create looks to express ourselves, learn from each other, and take that with us. That's the give and take of being a part of this community.
And we can't wait to watch what you create with GXVE.
Gwen's signature red lipstick is called Original Recipe
GXVE is debuting with several lipsticks, including Stefani's signature red hue—a "true red" called "Original Recipe." (She never revealed the lipstick color or brand she has been wearing over the years.)Original Recipe lipstick comes in both satin and matte finishes.There's also an Original Recipe Longwear Liquid Lipstick.
Eyeshadow, liner, a face oil & more
The collection also includes eye shadow quads, "Eye See in Color Clean Multidimensional Eyeshadow Palette—in colors named after her songs:- Simple Kind of Life—matte neutral
- Rich Girl—rich golden bronze
- Just a Girl—rose gold
- Danger Zone—matte smoky
There are also two eyeliner pencils in blue and black and two types of brow pencils in seven different shades.
Plus, the line includes a face oil called "All Time Prime Clean Hydrating Prep & Smooth Face Oil."
Glam Packaging
Just like Stefani's style, GXVE's packaging makes a bold statement in black and white with lots of glitzy gold accents.Even the face oil's dropper bottle makes a statement. It's a tall, square, opaque white bottle with black lettering.
