Anti-aging skincare brand Wrinkles Schminkles, partners with TerraCycle to launch their new silicone patch recycling program. Last Year TerraCycle also partnered with Saks in a beauty recycling program.
The brand creates a fully funded three step system for customers to recycle their skin care patches. These patches are being recycled into plastic lumber, plastic container planter pot, drainage piping and other such items.
Wrinkles Schminkles is the pioneer of the Reusable Wrinkle Patch which is 100% biodegradable and has created the first Silicone Patch recycling program.
Three steps are outlined on their website:
Step 1: Collect your used Wrinkles Schminkles patches, cosmetics or packaging.
Step 2: Request a pre-paid recycling envelope from TerraCycle on Wrinkles Schminkles website.
Step 3: Seal your Wrinkles Schminkles products in the recycling envelope and deliver to the nearest mailbox.
Founder Gabrielle Requena commented, “Since going viral on TikTok and significantly growing, at the very top of our brand’s to-do list has been finding a way to recycle a historically classed ‘non-recyclable’ category recyclable. Even my manufacturer insisted it wasn’t possible. I’m a big believer that aesthetics and ethics can go hand in hand.
"By pioneering the first silicone patch recycling program through TerraCycle, we are proud to offer our customers this simple and free option to ensure we keep our products and packaging out of landfills and contribute to our planet and people, like any future-focused brand.”
