The New Jersey Packaging Executives Club (NJPEC) held its annual Hall of Fame Dinner & Ceremony on May 18th at the Manor in West Orange, New Jersey.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the prestigious awards gala. Seven packaging industry executives were honored—five were inducted into the NJPEC Hall of Fame and two received the new Rising Star award.
Kristyn Shaner, president of the NJPEC and senior sales executive at Wexler Packaging Products, welcomed guests. Charles Del Rosso of Holman Iggesund Paperboard acted as the event's emcee.
Former NJPEC president Ron Cataldo spoke to guests about creating the Hall of Fame Award in 2003. The award serves as a way to recognize packaging industry executives who have made a significant contribution to the field of packaging throughout their careers.
Welcoming the NJPEC Hall of Fame 'Class of 2023'
This year's inductees into the NJPEC Hall of Fame are:- Stacey Dano, vice president of the Procurement Center of Excellence at The Estee Lauder Companies
- Sheherazade Chamlou, vice president of sales at SGD Pharma
- Sherri Kelley, vice president of Global Package Testing at The Estee Lauder Companies
- Joe D'Anna, now retired, formerly EXO manager at Coty (prior, Elizabeth Arden and Revlon)
- Gene Kistler, sales manager at Just Packaging and former NJPEC President
NJPEC Celebrates the New Rising Star Award
NJPEC debuted a new Rising Star Award for executives who have at least five years experience in the packaging industry. The first recipients of the Rising Star Award are:- Liana Marchese, director of sales at ABA Packaging
- Brian Kolodey, packaging engineer at Johnson & Johnson
