Perfect Corp. has debuted its latest beauty tech innovation—a generative AI-powered Hairstyle Change try-on feature within its YouCam Makeup App.
With this breakthrough technology, Perfect Corp. utilizes advanced generative AI and stable diffusion models to produce a wide variety of hyper-realistic hairstyles, colors, and textures—so users can explore a range of hairstyles.
Perfect Corp. says it's a breakthrough development for both consumers and the hairstyling industry. "It's the most advanced and realistic virtual try-on solution for hairstyling available on the market today," the company states. "It is set to redefine the way consumers discover and experiment with hairstyles."
What's generative AI? While Traditional AI aims to perform specific tasks based on predefined rules and patterns, Generative AI goes beyond this limitation and strives to create entirely new data that resembles human-created content, according to upGrad.
The solution evolved from GAN (Generative Adversarial Network) technology—a type of generative modeling using deep learning methods—to more sophisticated and precise generative AI models, Perfect Corp.'s team explains.
