L’Oréal announced the departure of Alexandra Palt from her role as Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer, effective April 1st. She will remain as CEO of the Foundation L’Oréal until June 30th then sit on the board of the Foundation.
Ezgi Barcenas will succeed Palt as Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer starting March 1, 2024.

He adds, "The choice of Ezgi Barcenas, a recognized business and climate leader, to succeed Alexandra is a strong sign of L’Oréal’s reiterated commitment to its sustainability transformation and to social responsibility.”
During Palt’s twelve-year tenure as Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer, she introduced industry-wide transparency initiatives such as the EcoBeautyScore and Product Impact Labelling (PIL). She also launched L’Oréal for the Future roadmap in 2020.
Under Palt’s leadership, the L’Oréal Groupe received a Triple ‘A’ rating from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CPD) eight times in a row.
She also helped found Groupe philanthropic programs and impact investing funds. The Foundation L’Oréal and its Women in Sciences international awards programs were her most notable programs. Palt founded the L’Oréal Fund for Nature Regeneration, the Circular Innovation Fund and the Climate Emergency Fund as a part of her goal for a sustainable society.
Barcenas worked at AB InBev for ten years when she established and ran global sustainability functions and architected the company’s ‘net-zero by 2040’ ambitions. She also oversaw AB InBev’s ‘100+ Accelerator’ sustainability start-up program, which is now in its fifth year.
Recently, Barcenas was listed in TIME Magazine’s TIME100 Climate List. The list recognizes 100 of the world’s most influential business climate leaders. She also recieved Reuters’ Responsible Businesses Sustainability Trailblazer award in 2022.
