Nivea, a Beiersdorf brand, has announced its 2025 Sustainability Initiatives—and sustainable packaging goals include product and packaging updates with a focus on climate-conscious manufacturing.
Nivea began reformulating and repackaging products last year, and consumers can expect to see changes rolling out this year across the lip, shower, and cream/lotion categories.
The redesign includes a new tin for the iconic Nivea Creme, in its signature blue tin—now made with recycled aluminum.

- A new tin will include 80% recycled aluminum.
- Nivea's goal is to use 1.4 tons of recycled aluminum this year.
- Nivea Soft Moisturizing Cream will roll out a new vegan formula made with 95% Naturally Derived ingredients, including purified water, and 5% skin-safe synthetic ingredients.
Updates to Lip Products
- Nivea Lip has begun a rollout of newly developed formulas with up to 98% naturally derived ingredients.
- Certain flavors are created with 99.5% naturally derived ingredients, 100% vegan formula, and use recycled cardboard for packaging.
Updates to Shower Products
- Nivea Body Wash will have up to 91% naturally derived ingredients and be microplastic particle free. The packaging is recyclable and made with 47% recycled material, with 25% less plastic.
- The new user-friendly design improves the emptying process.
Updates to Nivea Men
- Nivea Men Body Washes will have microplastic free formulas, recyclable, lighter packaging, and certain scents will have a vegan formula.
- Packages are made with up to 98% recycled material, and also recyclable—and microplastic particle-free.
