Neutrogena’s parent company, Kenvue is consolidating operations to New Jersey. As a result, the Neutrogena office in Los Angeles, CA closed laying off 84 employees.
Kenvue is relocating its headquarters from Skillman, NJ to a newly built research and development facility in Summit, NJ.
Closing the Los Angeles office is part of Kenvue’s efforts to expand consumer outreach as well as boost growth and improve collaboration.
Out of the 84 laid-off employees, 74 have been offered employment at other company locations. The company filed a notice with the California Employment Development Office two months ago, outlining the layoff of 84 employees.
In the fourth quarter of 2024, Kenvue reported an 8% drop in organic sales within its skin health and beauty segment. According to financial filings, Neutrogena and other skin and beauty products account for roughly 20% of Kenvue’s revenue.
Kenvue also recently laid off employees at its Skillman, NJ headquarters as it restructures other parts of the business as well.
