President of L'Oréal Canada's Consumer Products Division, Stéphane Bérubé, has joined the Aplantex Advisory Board.
Aplantex is a green biotechnology industrial platform that aims to produce the phytochemical ingredients sought by the cosmetics, natural health, agri-food, and pharmaceutical industries. The platform aims to create these ingredients in abundance, locally and in all seasons, in a controlled environment.
Photosynthetic phytoreplicators are the basis of a stable biomass produced in vertical hydroponics using a minimum of water and fed in a loop by a dosage of nutrient solution. The process uses renewable hydroelectric energy, produces no waste, and the plants capture and assimilate up to 40% of their dry weight in carbon from atmospheric C02.
