Daughter of Walmart’s founder, co-manager of Walton Enterprises, and a key figure behind Walmart, Alice Walton, has surpassed L’Oréal heiress Françoise Bettencourt Meyers as the world’s richest woman.
According to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index, Walton’s net worth has increased by 38% to %95 billion in the past year. This increase is from the 44% surge in Walmart shares in 2024.
Bettencourt Meyers’ net worth has dropped to $89.9 billion due to the drop in L’Oréal’s stock.
Nearing the $100 billion mark, Walton is close to joining the ‘centibillionaires’ club, which includes Bill Gates and Elon Musk.
Walton had previously held the title of ‘world’s richest woman’ for several years but was surpassed by Bettencourt Meyers in 2020.
