Clean beauty retailer Credo Beauty has launched its own skin care brand—and its packaging includes an innovative pump co-developed with Pact Collective. "It is the most sustainable pump option on the market," the company states.
Pump packaging for beauty products are known for causing recycling issues. Credo's team set out to solve this issue—and stay tuned for our upcoming story about its development.
The "NewMatter" pump is made from recycled resin, sourced from landfills and ocean-bound plastic. "Paired with a recyclable glass bottle and a 100% recycled, FSC-certified carton, the entire package is completely designed with the planet in mind," Credo posted on Instagram (see the post below).
Credo will make the innovation accessible to all beauty brands. Annie Jackson, co-founder of Credo Beauty, was named CEO last year.
Jackson comments, "Our Credo Clean Standard is already rigorous and difficult to attain but we wanted to challenge ourselves with how our own brand could take clean innovation to new heights from full disclosure of fragrance ingredients and packaging innovation to exceeding the minimum requirements to check certain boxes, Credo Skincare raises the bar on what is possible and what can become the future baseline."
Credo Beauty is a clean beauty pioneer and advocate. Last year, the company signed a letter to the EPA.
Consumer Research—Essential to Product Development
The team at Credo Beauty say they listened to the consumer's needs when choosing the ingredients and developing the formulas—and had over 10 years of data to review during the product development process.Jackson comments, “The benefit of listening to 10 years of customers' desires and skin concerns compelled us to create this line. Years of data drove the ingredient compositions of these products so that we could exceed our customers’ expectations for efficacy."
Vetiver Root is one of the most searched ingredients on the site, and hydration is its consumers' primary skin care concern. Based on this knowledge, Credo's team developed its product line.
The new Credo Skincare collection includes two cleansers and four moisturizers. Each product contains the transformative power of upcycled vetiver root extract, ethically harvested by a local cooperative in Haiti.
Vetiver root is an antioxidant that supports the protection of the skin’s barrier for a vibrant skin tone and a nourished complexion while improving skin texture and reducing the appearance of pores and wrinkles.
The Credo Skincare Collection includes:
- Deep Thirst Hydrating Cleanser
- True Timeout Calming Cleanser
- Deep Thirst Hydrating Moisturizer
