Albéa Tubes has started producing its Greenleaf™ plastic laminate web at its Brampton, Ontario facility. It took the company a year to prep and install a new state-of-the-art blown film line and train the teams in the new technology.
Albéa held a ribbon-cutting ceremony that brought together the company’s management team and other stakeholders including Albea’s clients, employees, and local and provincial officials.
Bruno de Carvalho, VP & General Manager Albéa Tubes America, commented how Brampton is now “a game-changer in offering sustainable solutions made in North America supporting customers in the transition from common aluminum foil containing tubes to all-plastic laminate Greenleaf tubes for such products as toothpaste, personal care items, cosmetics, and pharma markets.”
Albéa's Greenleaf tubes are recognized by the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) and RecyClass as recycling-ready in the HDPE stream where collection and recycling are available.
The Brampton facility was established in 2000 and specializes in extrusion lamination of multi-layer web for aluminum-barrier laminate (ABL) tubes for Personal care and Cosmetics, Oral Care, Pharma, Industrial, and Food.
Plant Manager Jerzy Debski said,
“This project was and is about your needs and our commitment to support a circular economy for plastics use. Our new line adheres to international standards, ensuring the best quality products and meeting our customers’ demanding requirements.”
With the production of Greenleaf, Albéa contributes to a circular economy by supplying brands with recyclable HDPE tubes.
