Reality TV & Redesigns
Several months ago, I was strolling around my neighborhood when I noticed a large trailer with the words, While You Were Out, parked outside of one of the older homes. A small crowd had gathered across the street to watch.
Reality television in the making! I knew the show — a relative leaves the house and a design team moves in to transform a room in two days. I stopped my walk and joined the nosy group, hoping for a glimpse of the action.
While I did catch a few sneak peeks, I have to wait until the show airs before I get the full picture.
Just as While You Were Out transforms rooms, we’ve been busy with our own design transformation. Consider the December cover your sneak peek at what’s been going on behind the scenes at Rodman Publishing. We hope you like what you’ve seen so far, and we hope we’ve built excitement for what’s to come.
I am pleased to announce that as of January, Cosmetic Packaging & Design will re-launch as Beauty Packaging. We remain committed to bringing you timely news and trends concerning personal care, cosmetic and fragrance packaging. But we will be made over. The improvement starts with our packaging. One thing you’ll notice immediately is that our current look will be replaced by a modern, trendy design featuring a new name, new logo, new formats and new graphics.
Our editorial coverage gets a makeover too. We will be adding a new column in January. Our coverage of product launches and their packaging will expand. And each issue we plan to look in-depth at the business behind beauty.
So this issue is the last hoorah for Cosmetic Packaging & Design. We are closing out the year with some memorable articles. Contributing Editor Janet Herlihy examines recent prestige packages and Joanna Cosgrove reports on the latest color cosmetics to push the design envelope. Finally, we also cover the processes behind outsourcing.
We hope you enjoy it. See you in January as Beauty Packaging!
Best Regards,
