More advanced ingredients are being developed for skin care, causing increased demand for airless packaging that will keep the formulations safe. Bottles with airless pump dispensers feel high-end, help to preserve and protect a formulation, and can ensure that the consumer is able to dispense every drop.
Two brands have recently launched unusual product formulations, and both chose airless bottles. Biopelle’s Tensage Stem Cell line features snail egg extract, and Alastin Skincare says its products include the peptides that support the skin’s natural ability to produce new elastin and collagen.
Both lines are sold at the offices of dermatologists, plastic surgeons and other healthcare professionals.
Snail Egg Extract is Biopelle’s ‘Secret’ Ingredient
Biopelle’s Tensage Stem Cell line includes Tensage Stem Cell Cream and Tensage Stem Cell Eye Cream. Both products are formulated with the company’s trademarked Cellpro technology—an ingredient that contains the signaling proteins harvested exclusively from the eggs of the Cryptomphalus aspersa snail.
The moisturizing cream claims to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, smooth rough texture, and even skin tone, while also firming and plumping the skin. The eye cream helps reduce dark circles and undereye puffiness. The products are also paraben-free, and include retinol, peptides, caffeine, sodium hyaluronate, antioxidants, humectants, along with brightening agents and soothing botanical extracts.
Alastin’s Collagen-Stimulating Peptides
Alastin Skincare is a new brand that claims to use peptides in its products that help support the skin’s production of new, healthy elastin and collagen. The products are formulated with Alastin’s trademarked TriHex technology, which is what the brand calls its exclusive ingredient complex.
Collagen has been a buzzword lately with more brands launching drinks and powders that contain the trendy ingredient and claim to have beauty benefits. The collagen levels in the skin decline naturally as we age, allowing wrinkles to form more easily - so any product that might help in increasing our skin’s ability to produce it could be beneficial.
Elastin is the fiber that’s responsible for keeping skin tight and fighting the inevitable effects of gravity. A product that may help generate more elastin could help to prevent the skin from sagging and losing elasticity.
Airless Bottles, in Different Styles
Biopelle chose double-wall airless bottles in silver, with matte silver oversized caps and yellow accents, for its new Tensage Stem Cell line. The bottles have airless pump dispensing systems with ergonomically shaped actuators that are wide enough for your finger to fit comfortably as the user dispenses the product. The bottles are housed in round, paper boxes covered with silver metallic foil, for a luxe look.
Jenell Chubb, director of operations, Biopelle, says, “We selected an airless pump delivery system because of its use of natural pressure to create an airtight seal in the container. The delivery system fully protects the products from degradation and oxidation.”
Chubb continues, “Our airless pump system will increase the longevity of the Stem Cell Creams while providing smooth and accurate dosage that will be perfect from the first to the last pump.”
Alastin chose double-wall bottles with airless dispensing systems for many of its products that feature its “TriHex Technology,” including its Restorative Skin Complex, Regenerating Skin Nectar, and Restorative Eye Treatment.
The bottles are white with elongated, shiny silver caps. Each product features a bright accent color on its logo, with a matching metallic stripe that horizontally encircles each cap near the bottom.
