The Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors Association, also known as ICMAD, celebrated its 2017 Cosmetic Innovator of the Year (CITY) Awards on July 10th.
The winners and finalists were honored at a ceremony held during the Cosmoprof North America show at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. Take a look at ICMAD’s Facebook page to see photos from the event.
Pam Busiek, ICMAD’s president and CEO, says, “ICMAD has proudly recognized and honored the exceptional achievements of personal care and beauty industry professionals for over twenty years during the CITY Awards ceremony.”
Busiek continues, “This year’s winners are exemplary representatives of our industry’s creative entrepreneurs who have accomplished remarkable feats this past year, and we are thrilled to celebrate and publicize their reputable work.”

Product Innovation Winners
There are five Product Innovation winners. LYN Nail Polish is the color cosmetic winner. The lacquer is formulated with a proprietary complex that allows the nails to breathe without yellowing — and the fast-drying formula will last seven days.
The Facial Skincare winner is Dr. Brandt’s Magnetight Age-Defier. This “skin recharging magnet mask” contains iron particles, and it ihas an unusual removal method. Wrap a tissue around the included magnet to ‘lift’ the creamy product off your face, without needing to rinse. The mask’s other ingredients, which are clear and include oils, should be massaged into the skin as a final step.
The Bath/Body/Fragrance winner is Salts Alive’s Cell Salt Enrich Body Lotion. The mineral-rich body moisturizer, which vegan and made with certified organic ingredients, contains 12 cell salts and omega rich protein.
The Haircare winner is Ouai Haircare’s Dry Foam Shampoo. The waterless foam neutralizes product buildup and oil, and leaves a light scent while adding volume to refresh hair.
The ‘Accessories & Tools’ winner is Clarisonic’s Sonic Foundation Makeup Brush. Designed to transform any Clarisonic device into a makeup applicator that vibrates, for better coverage and blending. It “micro-blends” makeup — at 18,000 micro-blends per minute — for an airbrushed look.

The Industry Contributor Award winners are Tish and Snooky Bellomo of Tish and Snooky’s Manic Panic NYC for Best Entrepreneur; Dynamic Blending Specialists for Most Innovative Company; and Redex Industries for Most Charitable.
The Member’s Choice winners are CAO Cosmetics’ Liquid Mattes, for Best Product; and Milk Makeup for ‘Best Package.’ Milk’s packaging is by World Wide Packaging.
The Marketing winners, in the Ad Campaign and Product Launch categories, are World Wide Packaging’s ‘Time to Dream Again’ campaign; and Grande Cosmetics’ GrandeLIPS Nude Collection.
