The Perfumed Plume Awards for Fragrance Journalism celebrated its 4th annual awards at a celebration on Wednesday, April 10, at the Society of Illustrators in New York City.
Writers, journalists, entrepreneurs, influencers and industry notables from the world of fragrance, media, art and design gathered at the cocktail party.
Lyn Leigh and Mary Ellen Lapsansky, founders of the Perfumed Plume Awards, greeted guests. Beauty Packaging's publisher, Jay Gorga, was among the presenters.

During the beginning of the presentation, Miranda Gordon, vice president, Fine Fragrance Marketing & Evaluation, MANE, said, “The Perfumed Plume Awards shines a spotlight on gifted writers whose brilliant story-telling abilities give the consumer a newfound appreciation of fragrance in all its many facets."
Mary Ellen Lapsansky announced industry icon Annette Green as the winner of the Fragrance Book of the Year Award, describing her as, "Someone who doesn't take 'no' for an answer, but instead forges ahead with all her plans."
Next, Jenny B. Fine, executive editor, WWD Beauty Inc., read Leonard Lauder's comments about Green, saying, "Annette has single-handedly been the driving force of the fragrance industry, both in the U.S. and abroad."
Just before introducing Green, Fine said, “There’s no doubting Annette’s illustrious career in the fragrance industry. She changed, shaped and developed not only the face of the business from the inside, but also how the consumer perceived, bought and came to love perfume in all its forms.”
As Green walked to the stage, the crowd cheered -- especially when she mentioned she was about to celebrate her 95th birthday.
Green spoke about her long career and love for the fragrance world, and said, "I've had young people come up to me and say thank you for writing the book," explaining that all the positive feedback from friends, colleagues and strangers has been her biggest surprise -- and her greatest pleasure -- to come from writing the book.
Green posed for photos and signed copies of her book after the presentation.
The winners were each presented with a signature Tiffany pen. View photos from the event here on Perfumed Plume's website.
