HBA 2012 IPDA Finalists Announced

Winners will be revealed at HBA Global on June 19.

The HBA International Package Design Awards (IPDA) program recognizes outstanding cosmetics, fragrance, personal care, skin care, and sustainable packaging innovations in the prestige and mass markets, as well as sampling/travel size and tools/at-home devices packaging. On June 19th, winners of the coveted awards will be announced at a special ceremony that will be part of the big 20th Anniversary celebration of the HBA Global event. The festivities will take place in the Special Events Hall of the Javits Center from 4pm to 6pm, and all HBA attendees are welcome to attend. The IPDA winners will be announced by TV personality and lifestyle and beauty expert, Lady Emmy.

During the three days of the show, stop by the IPDA Showcase in the booth shared by Beauty Packaging and Happi magazines, long-time sponsors of the annual competition, for an up-close look at all the finalists and winners.

As the importance of the awards grows in stature, entries have increased. This year there were more than 180 submissions, with Skin Care Prestige almost doubling the other categories. Other high categories were Prestige as well, for Cosmetics, Personal Care and Fragrance. Generally there are three to four finalists per category. However, due to a higher volume of entries, and close judging scores, a decision was made to select five finalists in some categories.

A committee of 100 industry professionals voted on the impressive packaging projects for the final selection.

Following are this year’s finalists in each of the 11 categories: Cosmetics Mass, Cosmetics Prestige, Fragrance Mass, Fragrance Prestige, Personal Care Mass, Personal Care Prestige, Skin Care Mass, Skin Care Prestige, Green Packaging, Sampling/Travel Size Packaging, and Tools/At Home Devices Packaging.
