The Palace of Versailles collaborated with Guerlain, one of Paris’s oldest perfume houses, to launch Le Bouquet de la Reine (“The Queen’s Bouquet”), an exclusive limited-edition fragrance. The beautiful handmade flacon and scent were designed “to capture the opulence of the palace as well as its constant rebirth over the centuries.” The proceeds will go toward renovating the sprawling landmark, which is one of France’s most popular destinations.
In keeping with the luxuriousness of the palace, the perfume was priced at 550€. Purchasers had only one month (until May 17, 2016) to apply for a bottle, which was designed to “look like a work of art, in itself.” It was crafted to resemble a precious stone, draped in lavish fabrics and solid gold. For the occasion, Guerlain brought back its Quadrilobe flacon, originally created in 1908 for the maison’s emblematic perfume Rue de la Paix.
