As Shiseido continues to advance its global R&D network, Shiseido Americas Corporation unveiled its newly enhanced facility in East Windsor, NJ (see photo). The move allows Shiseido to strengthen its consumer research and and product development in the Americas. Projects will tie in with the company’s new Center of Excellence for Makeup, which is based in New York City. As part of the plan, Shiseido-owned Bare Escentuals will relocate from San Francisco to Manhattan.
The East Windsor site has expanded from 6,600 square feet to 22,000 square feet, and will now be central to a number of functions previously based in Japan, including development of product information, product safety assurance, and intellectual property management. More researchers will now be based in the Americas.
Marc Rey, president and CEO, Shiseido Americas, commented: “As we work to build even closer relationships with our customers in the Americas, we are taking a number of steps to ensure that we are well-positioned to understand and respond to consumer demand. The Americas Innovation Center will help facilitate deeper customer insights and unparalleled innovation in the Americas, which will in turn enhance product research, technology and development on a global scale.”
