On December 7, at CIBS’ monthly luncheon at The Manhattan Club at Rosie O’Grady’s, the organization presented its annual scholarship to an accomplished student planning on entering the industry. This year’s scholarship presentation was given in honor of Ted Boccuzzi.
Boccuzzi was president of CIBS in 2001, and served on the general program for 10 years, starting in 1989; he managed the scholarship for several years starting in 2002. He received an NJPEC award in 2005, and a BIMS award in 2007. In addition, his company ADS has been assembling all the gift boxes for CIBS’ Ladies Day and Holiday Ball for 25 years.
Scholarship recipient Melinda Batista is a junior at FIT, in the Cosmetics and Marketing program. She is interested in scent design, product packaging and sales & marketing. She has interned at Tocca Beauty, and says her dream job would be as a perfumer at Givaudan.
