Leadership changes have been announced for The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. (ELC), effective July 1, following Thia Breen’s decision to retire after a 40-year career. Breen, group president, North America, will be succeeded by Chris Good, president, UK and Ireland.
Good has led the UK and Ireland business since 2012, and in 2014 he was promoted to president, UK and Ireland. He is credited for having “pioneered the company’s successful evolution from a traditional department store model into a diversified omnichannel business.” Under his leadership, since 2012, the UK and Ireland business has generated consistent double-digit compound annual sales growth and has also tripled online net sales in the same timeframe. Previously, he was a key member of the leadership team for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region and served as general manager, Russia. He has been with ELC for more than 15 years.
In turn, Good will be succeeded by Philippe Warnery, current general manager, Canada, who has been appointed senior vice president and general manager, UK and Ireland. Since 2013, Warnery has led growth and profitability as general manager, Canada, where he implemented a winning growth strategy centered on local relevancy, e/m-commerce expansion and social media innovation. Previously, he was vice president, general manager, Origins, International, credited with leading Origins’ expansion into new markets including China and Mexico, and establishing strong retailer relationships in the UK. He has been with ELC for more than 10 years.
