Packaging and print provider DISC, received an American Graphic Design Gold Award, from Graphic Design USA, for the Sapelo line of luxury skin care products. John Rebecchi, senior vice president of marketing and new business development for DISC, says the Sapelo folding cartons are emblematic of what a luxury skin care brand package should reflect. He explains, “The carefully crafted graphics seemingly etched in gold against a pale green lacquered background are framed with a gold border. Upon opening the box, the consumer is rewarded with a floral graphic printed on the inside with the brand message Modern Skin Care Inherited from the South. In our view, the carton is a well-executed blend of refined beauty and pampered luxury.”
The cartons are the result of a collaboration between the Sapelo team, led by Cindy Edwards and Stephanie Duttenhaver, the designer Emily McCarthy, and DISC’s production team.
In other news from DISC, the company received GMI Prime certification from Graphic Measures International. This certification consists of five key components: process control and documentation, equipment maintenance, training procedures, operator capability and equipment performance.
