With notes of French wisteria blended with the essence of Bulgarian rose, imperial jasmine and fresh watery nuances, Nest Fragrances’ Wisteria Blue EDT ($72) is delicate and light.
The made-to-be-seen packaging—which actually came before the fragrance—was inspired by the botanical artwork of 18th-century artist Mrs. Mary Delany.
Nest Fragrances’ founder Laura Slatkin discovered the artwork while perusing the library. With Delany’s work serving as her guide and inspiration, Slatkin explored many flowers and botanicals over a one-year period to identify concepts that could be translated into artwork that would communicate and complement each fragrance. To bring her vision together, Slatkin brought the images to master perfumers to translate the botanicals into complex fine fragrances.
(At the end of November 2017, Eurazeo Brands announced a $70-million investment in Nest Fragrances.)
