Luxe Pack New York, which runs May 15-16, 2019, will be held in a new location, the Jacob K. Javits Center, on Manhattan’s West Side.
“We’re in a new location, but it is the same boutique-style show,” says Linda Villalobos, U.S. representative, Luxe Pack New York. “The move to the Javits offers visitors a more centralized location with updated amenities,” she says.
Beauty industry executives in package development, marketing, and creative, will mingle with top packaging suppliers at the exclusive B2B trade show. More than 200 packaging manufacturers and suppliers are exhibiting this year, including 3C Inc., ABA Packaging, Baralan, Cameo Metal, Colt’s Plastics, Cosmopak, East Hill, Expess Tubes, Fusion Packaging, HCT Group, Iggesund Paperboard, Kurz, Lady Burd Cosmetics, Neopac, Next-Filler, New High Glass, Olive Packaging, Pantone, Plastube, Quadpack, SeaCliff Beauty, Toly, Virospack and WWP.
The Luxe Promo area is returning once again, featuring premium promotional items for the beauty industry. The area showcases suppliers featuring promotional gifts, holiday items, marketing merchandise, and POS solutions. In this area, visitors will find makeup bags, manicure sets, hair ornaments, samples, candles, jewelry and more.
New for 2019: The Luxe Pack LaunchPad
The show features a new addition this year, the Luxe Pack LaunchPad. The digital display will include many of the retail launches that hit shelves in 2018, showcasing the work of exhibitors and the products they helped bring to market.
The Conference Lineup
This year’s conference program includes a full lineup of speakers discussing emerging trends, innovation, and more.
Jamie Matusow, Editor-in-Chief of Beauty Packaging, will moderate a panel called “Sustainable Packaging: The New Conversation,” on Wednesday May 15, 4 pm - 5 pm. Speakers will include Sarah Jindal, senior global analyst, Innovation and Insights, Beauty & Personal Care, Mintel and Leilanie Bruce, project manager and healthy materials specialist at Brightworks Sustainability.
Marc Rosen, president, Marc Rosen Associates, will moderate “The Inspiration Crossover” on Wednesday, May 15, 2 pm - 3:30 pm. This session is about how inspiration is the common denominator that connects creativity, technology, marketing and innovation. The panelists will discuss the beauty-tech connection. The panelists are Valerie Aurilio, executive creative director, Landor; Jonathan Boulangeat, brand ambassador and business development manager, Piper-Heidsieck Champagne; and Rui Periera, creative technologist, Google.
Emma Chiu, creative innovation director at JWT Intelligence, will present, “The Future 100: Trends and Changes Ahead,” on Thursday, May 16, 11:00 am - 11:45 am. Chiu will discuss how brands are evolving by taking on roles as civic leaders, wellbeing advocates and even stepping in to solve world problems. The Future 100 charts 10 emerging trends across 10 sectors, spanning beauty, technology and more.
The Pantone Color Institute will present, “Coloring the Zeitgeist: The Role of Color in Luxury Packaging” on Wednesday, May 15, 9:30 am - 10:15 am. Speakers Laurie Pressman, vice president, and Cindy Cooperman, vice president of global strategic accounts for brand, will speak about The Pantone Color Institute’s key color trends for 2020 and how to best apply them to luxury packaging,
