Groupe Clarins has announced the acquisition of a new property, Le Domaine Clarins, a 200,000-acre private farm and open lab in the Alps, where they will source, grow and observe sustainable plant ingredients for the development of their skincare and makeup formulas.
At a 4,500-ft. altitude, the unique microclimate, shielded by mountains, provides optimal growing conditions for many plants. Clarins says it owes its success to the plants that produce the company’s precious effective ingredients and products.
“Above all, it’s the quality of the raw materials that makes quality products,” says Christian Courtin-Clarins, president of the supervisory board, Groupe Clarins.
As of now, formulas which will benefit from plant-based ingredients grown in Le Domaine Clarins include organic Alpenrose extract found in some My Clarins products, organic Houseleek extract found in ClarinsMen products, the organic Horehound extract found in Clarins Anti-pollution complex and Clarins cleansers.
