Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2020 will welcome professionals, executives, and experts from all over the world in March. Over 150 countries will be represented, with more than 3,000 exhibiting companies. Organizers reported that last year’s event hosted 265,000-plus cosmetic beauty professionals, and showed an increase in visitors from abroad by 10%; similar stats are expected for this year’s edition.
Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna essentially encompasses three trade shows, each dedicated to specific industries and distribution channels.
• Cosmopack and Cosmo: Perfumery & Cosmetics will both take place March 12-15.
• Cosmo: Hair, Nail & Beauty Salon is March 13-16.

A 2030 Theme
The 53-year-old leading global B2B event will focus on the major trends and technological innovations that will revolutionize the beauty industry over the next 10 years, signifying the start of a new era, according to organizers at BolognaFiere.
Experts, opinion leaders, agencies, and trend scouts will take the stage at various conferences, sharing insights about the factors that will characterize the evolution of Beauty through 2030. New concepts will be presented, designed to help beauty industry executives and brands better prepare for the challenges of the future.
The “vision of cosmetics in 2030” will be brought to life through various exhibits. Visitors will have the opportunity to evaluate how their activity will have to adapt to the digital revolution, new forms of socialization, attention to sustainability, declining environmental resources and the multicultural evolution.
A Focus on Beauty Tech
The center of the show floor, also known as the Service Center, will be transformed this year into a “Garden of Innovation” to showcase the technological innovations, high-tech formulations, biotechnologies and cutting-edge apps destined to revolutionize the beauty industry.
Thirty-two beauty tech companies, particularly start-ups, will be showcased in this high-traffic area. These companies specialize in online platforms, digital solutions, virtual apps for product testing, 3D makeup services, customization software, new solutions for retail stores and interactive digital platforms.
Trend agency BeautyStreams will manage this area, and will also feature “megatrends” that will influence our society in the future as “beauty goes digital.”
The beauty tech start-ups will also participate in Cosmoprof Next, a pitch competition designed to attract interest from venture capitalists, investors and buyers.
A Focus on Sustainability & Technology at Cosmopack
Cosmopack will include numerous exhibitors showcasing sustainable packaging solutions, with a special emphasis on achieving zero environmental impact, recycling and using biodegradable materials. Suppliers that provide cutting-edge formulations, natural ingredients, and turnkey services will also be represented.
The Cosmopack Factory Returns
Stay tuned for the theme of this year’s Cosmopack Factory—which is a live recreation of the manufacturing process—but at press time, organizers had only revealed that it will be a cosmetic product “destined to revolutionize the very concept of makeup.”
New this year, the Factory will feature three segments, which highlight three “moments” in the life cycle of every beauty product: The Factory—to experience the production phase firsthand; The Shop—for the transition to retail channels; and The Salon—to learn about and test the product.
CosmoTalks Will Cover 5 Key Areas & 10 Topics
CosmoTalks, Cosmoprof’s educational program, will take place March 12–14. Ten panel discussions will focus on five areas: future, trends, markets, digital and sustainability.
The conference lineup includes more than 150 speakers from around the world.
