Cosmoprof North America (CPNA) will open its doors August 29th-31st at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas for its 18th edition. It will mark the first major in-person event since the Covid-19 pandemic for many beauty industry executives and packaging suppliers.
“Cosmoprof North America is proud to be the first Cosmoprof event in 2021 which will be held in a physical format,” says Enrico Zannini, general manager, BolognaFiere Cosmoprof. “We are looking forward to getting back to the show floor and meeting our community in Las Vegas again, all while ensuring a safe experience and following government regulations.”
Zannini says he’s happy that new beauty brands will have the opportunity to introduce their revolutionary technologies and product innovations. “With the strong first quarter performance and anticipated continued U.S. economic growth projected for 2021, Cosmoprof North America is excited to provide exhibitors and operators with an optimistic return to the functional event space,” he says.
Cosmoprof NA is the largest b2b beauty exhibition in the Americas. The show’s three main sections are returning:
• Cosmetics & Personal Care hosts finished products for skincare, personal care, fragrances, makeup, and organic and natural beauty—and is useful for retailers.
• Cosmopack features leading companies for the supply chain, focusing on product development, formulas and packaging solutions.
• Professional Beauty is the section dedicated to the professional channel, with hair care, accessories, and furnishings for hair salons, beauty salons and spas.
PBA Moves Hairstyling Awards to CPNA
Cosmoprof NA will host the Professional Beauty Association’s (PBA) North American Hairstyling Awards on August 29th at the Mandalay Bay. “We are thrilled to be one of the first major events to bring all sectors of the beauty community back together again,” shares Steve Sleeper, executive director, PBA.PBA is the largest and most inclusive national trade organization representing the professional beauty industry. The NA Hairstyling Awards is a prestigious professional beauty competition celebrating the salon industry’s top artists for the past 30 years.
“Sleeper adds. “The future of beauty is brighter than ever, with strong economic indicators, revolutionary innovations and unprecedented technological advances and we look forward to bringing the industry’s best and brightest back together at Cosmoprof North America.”
More New Initiatives This Year
Cosmoprof NA partnered with “Ready to Beauty” this year for several new initiatives, including a first-of-its-kind economic data study focused on multicultural beauty. The results of the study, “Readiness is the New Green: An Economic Data Study on the Business of Multicultural Beauty in America,” inspired the formation of a national #BankBlack banking and finance program. The new program will help support niche and emerging Black/African American beauty entrepreneurs and brands.Cosmoprof NA also has a mentorship program to help promising beauty brands’ dreams come to fruition. The program offers exhibitors the unique opportunity to have 20-minute one-on-one mentoring sessions with founders, CEOs, and executives—to benefit from their decades of experience.

CBD Beauty will also be a new curated section at the show this year. It will feature beauty brands with CBD as an essential ingredient, and their suppliers.A full lineup of educational events and presentations will provide attendees with opportunities to hear insights from experts. On Monday, August 30th, 9:30 am - 10:30 am, the interactive presentation NPD: Keys to Growth in Prestige Beauty will feature inspiring insights to help beauty brands plan a path to recovery in 2021. Larissa Jensen, vice president, beauty industry advisor, NPD Group (and a member of Beauty Packaging’s advisory board) will present key learnings focused on the changing retail landscape.
Also on August 30th, 10:30 am - 11:30 am, the presentation “The Digital Beauty Consumer” will explore the core values of the digital beauty consumer—and how they are being redefined. Irene Chang, research analyst at Euromonitor will discuss the characteristics that define digital beauty consumers—including a new focus on healthy living, personalization, clean beauty and conscious beauty.
As always—and long overdue since the pandemic—attendees will have the ability to network and build new strategic business relationships for future collaborations.
