Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2023, the world’s largest B2B beauty event, will welcome visitors at its 54th edition on opening day, March 16th, at Italy’s BolognaFiere Exhibition Center.
The event features three shows in one, taking place on different dates in adjacent areas:
- Cosmopack, March 16th-18th
- Cosmo Perfumery & Cosmetics, March 16th-18th
- Cosmo Hair, Nail, & Beauty Salon on March 17th-20th
Cosmopack, the leading international event dedicated to the cosmetic industry’s entire supply chain, is known for setting industry trends—and inspiring breakthroughs in beauty. Packaging and formula suppliers will present innovations and new technologies.
- Cosmopack will feature top industry suppliers specializing in the following:
- Ingredients, raw materials, and fragrances
- Private label, contract manufacturing, and full-service solutions
- Primary and secondary packaging
- Makeup applicators and accessories
- Processing and packaging machines, plus complete lines and equipment
- Automation, track & trace, and data management solutions
Visitors include beauty entrepreneurs, CEOs, brand owners, R&D specialists, marketers, product development experts, and other industry executives from makeup, hair care, skincare, nail care, oral care, and personal care companies.
Networking is easy, and encouraged. Last year, more than 21,000 visitors had the opportunity to meet with 405 exhibitors from 33 countries and regions. More than half of attendees traveled from across the globe, with 41% based in Italy—and 59% from 118 different countries.
Cosmopack 2023 Highlights
Several influential leaders will share insights during the CosmoTalks conference program this year. The Cosmoprof Awards and Cosmopack Awards are also returning, culminating in a gala event on March 17th to announce the winners.The awards celebrate the best finished products, innovative formulations, and excellence in packaging design among exhibitors. BeautyStreams will select the finalists in seven categories from all submissions, and a jury of experts, journalists, and buyers will choose the winners.
What’s new on the show floor? An area dedicated to raw materials and ingredients, featuring essential oils, plant extracts and essences for the beauty industry.
The CosmoFactory Project will be a “factory of ideas” this year—a source of inspiration and an opportunity to raise awareness of product development issues the industry may face. The interactive display will take visitors on an “experiential journey,” show organizers say, “focusing on raw materials from extraction to processing, along with the latest track & trace technologies.”
Cosmopack 2023—An Exhibitors’ Preview
Here’s a small selection of some of the not-to-miss packaging suppliers and innovations on display at Cosmopack 2023.Asquan—Hall 15, Booth A17
Asquan will feature its Soft Square Collection, and the supplier says it takes the guesswork out of finding sustainable packaging. The refillable collection includes a mono-material jar, an airless pump, and a dip tube pump. Both pumps easily separate for recycling.The design features softly arced sides, rounded corners that “beg to be touched,” the supplier says, and shapes resembling “worn river stones” that fit well in hand.
Baralan—Hall 18, Booth D32-E13
Baralan will feature a new glass airless collection called “DEA—Developing the Evolution of Airless.” The packages don’t include an internal plastic container, which is typical for most airless systems. “This makes DEA the first airless system in which the filled product is directly in contact with its glass container,” the supplier says. The packages are available in three capacities with standard neck finishes and are compatible with a vast range of pumps.Brivaplast—Hall 15, Booth D10-E9
Brivaplast is showcasing its “This Is My Second Life!” collection at Cosmopack, including mascara, lipgloss, eyebrow and mascara packaging. The collection is designed to minimize the use of virgin raw materials while incorporating PCR.Materials offered include PET-PCR, HDPE-PCR, and a co-polyester with 30% PET PCR for the bottles—plus ABS-PCR and PP-PCR for the caps. The collection is decorated with freehand graphics and a colorful finish. The decoration is made using up to 50% renewable raw materials derived from the waste products of olive trees and soy plants.
Corpack—Hall 18, Booth B20
Corpack will feature one of its latest developments at Cosmopack, a stick package for lipstick called the “Slipstick.” The lipstick package features Corpack’s patented sliding mechanism, which is referenced in the name.The mono-material package is lightweight and can be produced with recycled or biodegradable materials. “Our ‘Slipstick is a lighter lipstick package with fewer parts to facilitate recycling,” the supplier says.
Elcos—Hall 18, Booth D39
Elcos will showcase its wide range of packaging solutions, including eco-friendly options, at Cosmopack. The supplier’s airless glass refillable packaging will be on display, paired with an all-PP non-metal pump. Elcos is a global company headquartered in Korea. It has factories in Korea and China and a U.S. office in New Jersey.HCP—Hall 15, Booth B2-C5
HCP will feature its new “Lashes Your Way” collection at Cosmopack. It’s designed to achieve high-performance, targeted mascara results quickly. The supplier will showcase 20 effective applicator and formula pairings for on-trend lash looks in versatile and contemporary packaging.The collection incorporates sustainable solutions for a reduced environmental impact, including PCR packaging. HCP also offers its exclusive bio-based material innovation, Eco-Flexi, for molded applicators and castor-oil fiber brushes.
HCT—Hall 15, Booth E22-F21
HCT will showcase its color cosmetic collection of stock packaging designed for recycling. The collection includes compacts, palettes, lipstick cases, and stick packages in mono-material PET to facilitate recycling.HCT offers hundreds of stock tool components across all beauty and personal care categories, which a brand can choose from—and get to market faster with sustainable packaging solutions.
Lumson— Hall 15, Booth C14 – D13
Lumson is introducing visitors to its latest innovation, “Airless Plastic Packaging — APP 355 Light.” The airless bottle combines lightweight materials with 80% PCR for a low environmental impact—and a 25% weight reduction. It includes Lumson’s patented airless pouch system, which guarantees high-barrier product protection.MYC—Hall 18, Booth C64 - D61
MYC’s team will be at Cosmopack featuring its refillable Metallica Compact, which combines sustainability and luxury. The compact is 100% aluminum and fully recyclable.It features an intuitive refillable system—unscrew the ring, remove the metal pan from the base, and insert a new one to refill and reuse. The compact is suitable for face powders as well as solid skincare.
Nest-Filler— Hall 20, Booth C35
Nest-Filler is featuring its “El Glass” package at Cosmopack. The supplier says the elegant glass bottle is “infinitely recyclable” and won’t degrade in quality or purity. It features a “capless pump” made from 100% plastic with a TPEspring for easy recycling.
Packtory—Hall 18, Booth A46
Packtory is featuring its extensive range of sustainable packaging solutions at Cosmopack. Its eco-friendly collections are designed to help a brand reduce its carbon footprint.Options include bottles made with biodegradable bio-resins, and materials that contain up to 100% PCR. Pair these with a mono-resin, metal-free, airless pump or sprayer. Packtory also offers refillable packages made using PCR and bio-plastics.
