Geranium—Pelargonium Odartissimum—is known to be “an encapsulating scent that creates a sense of calm.” Giving light and refreshing notes, the flower has been used for centuries to “ensure a peaceful and relaxing environment.”
The scent is now at the heart of the launch from the master French heritage fragrance house, Carrière Frères—as the latest addition in Carrière Frères’ Museum Collection in partnership with the Paris National Museum of Natural History.
Featuring notes of grapefruit, hemp flowers, and patchouli, Geranium ($85.00) was inspired by the 137 varieties of the geranium plant found along the Versailles-Chèvreloup greenhouses. Enclosed in an antique, rose-colored glass, the candle is covered in botanical illustrations from the Pelargonium Museum’s collection. The glass is then packaged in the collection’s signature forest green with hot-stamped gold lettering.
First Time for Refills
Carrière Frères says it is also introducing “a groundbreaking innovation in the space with candle refills in 100% compostable and recyclable packaging for the complete museum collection, remaining true to their commitment toward sustainability.” Each Geranium candle comes with one refill. This is the first time the brand is offering refills. With sustainability as a key brand pillar, Carriere Freres’ new refills will be available specifically for the Museum Collection’s now 4 scents. Placed in the glass container, the refill—made of 185g of wax poured in their workshop in Normandy, France, “keeps the same wax quality and savoir-faire as any classic candle.”
