Solutions & Questions Abound at Cosmoprof Miami 2025

Sustainable packaging was on display, but many expressed confusion over numerous issues in the beauty industry—here's the full report in our show review.

Solutions & Questions Abound at Cosmoprof Miami 2025
    Jamie Matusow, Editor-in-Chief03.03.25

An eager cosmetics industry crowd flocked to Cosmoprof Miami’s second annual show at the Miami Beach Convention Center from January 21–23. Overall hot trends continued with various sustainable packaging options, clean beauty formulations, and intriguing fragrance potions.

According to Cosmoprof organizers, the show floor increased by more than 10%, and featured nearly 900 exhibitors from 43 countries—an over 23% increase from 2024. This included an increased floor space with finished-product exhibitors.

The exhibitor lineup featured strong international representation through country pavilions, including those from Brazil, China, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Spain, and Turkey. New pavilions this year represented Colombia and the Dominican Republic.

At the conclusion of the 3-day show, Liza Rapay, VP, Head of Cosmoprof North America & Founder, Beauty New York, said:

“We are overjoyed to see the continued momentum of Cosmoprof North America in Miami 2025. The electric energy was unmatched, reaffirming Cosmoprof North America’s role as a hub for innovation. With a remarkable 28% increase in exhibitors—nearly 900 from 49 countries—it’s clear that our global influence continues to expand. As the beauty industry evolves at an unprecedented pace, we are committed to fostering even more connections and driving business success together.”

    Industry Talk—Issues Cause Confusion

On the show floor—and out on the streets—conversations were swirling around industry and worldwide topics, including the future of TikTok, pending tariffs, regional manufacturing, and demand for speed-to-market.

Several exhibitors told Beauty Packaging that they felt a bit confused about the industry at this point, in general, citing refillables, recycling, sustainable choices, lower MOQ’s—and issues such as pricing, brand willingness to purchase sustainable packs, low MOQ’s, advances in dupes, lack of an efficient recycling system, consumer engagement, the economy, geopolitical issues, and more.

One supplier confided, “Nobody knows what they want. The buyers have no direction…” Another noted, “Generally, Europeans are more knowledgeable about materials and finishing.” A third exhibitor said, “Trends are all over the place—and lots of brands are not necessarily looking for sustainable solutions; everyone’s looking for something different.”

A majority of packaging manufacturers stressed the need for more education for everyone involved in purchasing decisions and processes. Looking to the near future, many voiced the opinion that “makeup has to be fun!” This trend was evidenced by a wide array of vibrantly colored packaging available across the show floor.

    Packaging Trends

As has become the norm, Clean Beauty was pervasive, with botanically infused formulations to sustainable packaging solutions, from PCR materials to aluminum. Paper options seemed stronger, and more compostable items were in the spotlight. Glass is being used more frequently for color cosmetics and skin care. Sleek tubes and tottles were trending as well.

Eye-catching decoration has also seemingly become essential. And, with an eye on the future, several suppliers emphasized new, shared, or additional manufacturing facilities in North America, particularly in the U.S. to skirt potential tariffs and increase speed to market. “TikTok-ready” was also an often-used phrase for instantly available stock items. Portability and on-the-go continue to be high on the list of priorities for brands and consumers.

    Up Close with Exhibitors

Following is a rundown of some of the suppliers and highlights we spotted on the show floor. Companies are arranged in alphabetical order:

    Allstar Packaging Corp.

Allstar’s ASP 122 Series OS metal-free path pump.

Allstar Packaging Corp. put the emphasis on its wide range of pump and sprayer options available both in stock in N.J., and for custom orders.

In particular, the 122 series is a new plastic metal-free path lotion pump with a curved actuator added to its stock packaging line. The pump is offered in black or white, and is available in 18/415, 20/410, and 24/410 neck sizes. A dip tube cutting service and customization options, such as custom color are available.

Michelle Wu showed us a pretty assortment of metal caps and 3 PET deodorant roll-on bottles with PP caps, all in various sizes and colors. Customizable pumps can be vacuum-metallized. Glass bottles are also available.

    Apackaging Group

Cosmetic Packaging company Apackaging Group (APG), which specializes in dispensing, as well as a broad spectrum of packaging needs, talked about their new facility in Defiance, OH, which expands its operations beyond California and Asia. This fully integrated facility offers a comprehensive range of services, including soft-touch EBM, bottle blowing, injection molding, dispenser and cap manufacturing, rapid prototyping, full decoration capabilities such as silkscreening, and custom molding.

With support from Ohio, APG hired over 135 employees for this new facility. According to the company, the plant significantly lowers tariffs associated with China production while reducing lead times by over five weeks. It also boosts sustainability through a more efficient end-to-end supply chain, incorporating automated controls, assembly, palletization, and material handling.

In response to growing demand and overseas challenges, the facility has initiated its 2.0 expansion, which will add warehousing, office, production, and assembly space.

    APC Packaging

    .

APC’s Adapté Collection offers a sleek, modern look.

APC’s Adapté Collection is a versatile line of beauty packaging bottles designed for seamless customization with a range of up to eight interchangeable closures, including droppers, pumps, and sprayers.

Crafted for brands that “value elegance and adaptability,” each bottle in the Adapté Collection offers a sleek, modern look that suits any beauty formulation. This collection empowers brands to effortlessly tailor their product experience to suit a variety of needs and customer preferences.

    APR Packaging

With expertise in packaging, formulation, decoration, and turnkey services, APR Packaging had a lot to talk about at Cosmoprof Miami. To meet brands’ needs, the company offers manufacturing services throughout the world,

APR’s refillable jar for Strivectin is made in the U.S. The jar is made of mono-material, with 70% PET resin.

including in Toronto, Korea, China, the U.S.—and, in progress, Thailand.

One item of particular interest was a jar that APR Packaging had produced for Strivectin skin care. John Shen, founder & CEO of APR Packaging, said that the refillable, made in the U.S. jar is made of mono-material, with 70% PET resin.

    Compax

At Compax, Nick Kleidon, Director of Marketing, showed Beauty Packaging an array of airtight beauty sticks—“similar to propel-repel, but with a screw-top seal, versus a friction fit.”

The sticks are available in a range of shapes and sizes, and are made in Korea. They can be made in PCR mono-material polypropylene.

    Coverpla

The Oscar is one of many new glass bottles from Coverpla.

Coverpla exhibited an array of items, including some that were launched in cooperation with its European partners.

In addition to a wide selection of glass jars and bottles, Coverpla also featured caps with unusual shapes that can be combined with bottles in all sizes, including mini formats. According to the Coverpla team, this is also the case for premium bottles with thick glass walls. Brands are requesting caps that are simple, effective, and accessible; some include Surlyn; soon to be offered will be Surlyn grades made with recycled vegetable oil.

Among Coverpla’s bottles and caps are: Marilyn, a stock item with lovely proportions and an elegant faceted shape; Gaby, a simple Surlyn model often requested for its cylindrical shape that is easy to combine with all bottle shapes; the wooden Leo caps, with two simple horizontal grooves and fitted with a PP insert; and Oscar (shown), a trendy “apothecary” style for fragrance or cosmetic products.

According to the format chosen (50- or 100ml), Leo offers a different look, thanks to its thick base (it is produced by Zignago Vetro, and is fitted with a fixed collar).

    Elcos

Elcos always displays a beautiful and elegant array of packaging components, much of it grouped in complete families. Jars and caps with a sleek stone finish, and available in an array of colors, are refillable. Elcos also holds an international patent on this line. PCR and glass ranges are “all about sustainability.”

    Express Tubes

John Turville, of Express Tubes, in Kent, Washington, pointed out a TPE silicone slant tip applicator for lipgloss, in a tube that has 30% PCR. He said the applicator feels “luxurious.”

Fusion Packaging’s Space Max Collection ‘reimagines packaging with a sleek, racetrack-style profile that unlocks more space, more shades, and more impact.’

    Fusion Packaging

Fusion Packaging was unveiling several new full turnkey collections at Cosmoprof Miami. They had also expanded skincare collections to include hair and body.

For brands that want to level up their retail game, Fusion introduced three new profiles to the Space Max Collection—which Brady Bacchus, Sr. Manager Strategic Projects & Commercial Initiatives, FusionPKG, said “is a game-changer in beauty retail space management.”

Designed to maximize shelf efficiency, the Space Max Collection “reimagines packaging with a sleek, racetrack-style profile that unlocks more space, more shades, and more impact.”

With inclusivity at its core, the Space Max Collection enables brands to showcase a diverse range of shades in a variety of dispensing options from airless and atmospheric systems to tottles, tubes, direct applicators, and more.

    Harman Packaging Solutions

Contract manufacturer Harman Packaging Solutions specializes in glass and other cosmetic packaging for nail polish, lipstick, jars, and special UV gel polish brushes. They also have a new private label fill solution for UV gel polish. All work is done in-house in India.

    Idea-L Pack Group

One of Idea-L Pack Group’s specialties is advent calendars/gift sets.

One of Idea-L Pack Group’s specialties is advent calendars/gift sets, and they had a number of these novelties on display. Zakarya Ben Hassine, Head of Sales, showed Beauty Packaging several attractive productions, including for cosmetics and other purposes. Embossing, debossing, sustainability, and deco all lend to the appeal of these creations.

    ITIT Cosmetics

ITIT presented a wide-ranging collection for the face at Cosmoprof Miami including products for eyes, face, and lips. Many had double-duty benefits, including color and moisture.

One item for face was Hydra-Essential Mist, described as “neuro cosmetic biphasic” mist, with a “skin-brain connection” texture.

The Radiant Balance Compact Powder offered redness correction and a pore minimizing agent for uniform skin complexion and smoothing properties. Tan Blusher featured an all-over balmy blush with a semi-matte finish and a natural brightening effect. For lips, there were “prismatic infused lip oils.”

    K-Laser

    Holographic technology from K-Laser.
K Laser Technology, specialists in holographic technology, presented its “Design Lab” to brands and designers to showcase “bold, sophisticated designs that elevate packaging beyond expectations.”

The premier holographic design solutions provider gave attendees the opportunity to meet with two of the Design Lab’s experts, Gary Bibler, Director of New Creative Business, and Curtis Ju, Director of Global Initiative and founder of the Design Lab. Visitors received a collection of samples, including designs. Additional swatch books and patterns were available, along with free giveaways.

Ju said, “At our first Cosmoprof to introduce the Design Lab, we were excited to present our modular services and Project O to the American market. These services are intended to bridge the gap between designers and printers to continue to push the boundaries of unique, customizable packaging.”

    Lady Burd

For over 50 years, family-owned Lady Burd has been manufacturing high-quality and “highly profitable” cosmetics, skin care, and personal care products—in Farmingdale, New York. At Cosmoprof Miami, Samantha Burd showed Beauty Packaging a new launch of 6 lip butters, a coffee scrub, liquid matte eye shadows, and a squishy silicone tip for “a little plumping feel.”

    Libo

At Libo, Shafina Dinani showed Beauty Packaging their Clio and Rose Quartz collections, both with gorgeous graphics. One of my favorites was their Denim collection which used actual denim fabric on palettes of all sizes, even lipsticks. Their Juno collection had won an award for its refillable pans. A stainless-steel applicator was another standout.

    NF Beauty Group

At NF Beauty Group, Lina Park showed Beauty Packaging a number of recent packs they had produced for Goop, JLo, Honest, and Flower brands. Especially interesting was a new powder jar and applicator for dry shampoo. It’s self-locking and on-the-go, and both the cap and puff can be embossed or decorated.

Nuon’s patented Phototherapy Skin Detector tool is ‘an advanced skin analysis device that combines light therapy with precise skin diagnostics for enhanced skincare management.’ The wand reads the moisture and oil level of your skin—so you can keep track of your skin on a day-to-day basis.

    Nuon

The theme at Nuon continued with “the power of light,” featuring high-quality and innovative LED and red-light therapy solutions, many of which house brands’ formulations and take application to a new medical-influenced level. Red light is renowned for many treatments, including its ability to stimulate collagen production.

An expansive array of tools and applicators were on display at Nuon’s multiple stands in Miami, in striking colorful collections—and can be adapted to any brand’s purposes and tastes.

Nuon’s C.U.R.V.E. model represents an exciting new frontier for beauty brands. Alain Dijkstra, the company’s founder and CEO, says he saw “the untapped potential of integrating clinical-grade technologies into everyday skincare.” Now, Nuon’s powerful, non-invasive treatments “can transform a beauty routine into a scientifically-backed experience with maximum impact.”

Additional treatments from Nuon include enhanced technology through phototherapy, needling techniques, vibration massage, cooling & heating, and more.

    Orora

At Orora, Nathan Phillips, Director of Growth Marketing, showed us a dual-stick, push-up tube with a reusable system for deodorant, in refillable aluminum. The customer can keep the can and purchase refills. The plastic-free deodorant has a paper-based dial, and is 89% paper and 11% wood (with a wood screw on the inside).

    Packmax

At Packmax, which offers blow molding, printing, and tubing, Alonso Herrera explained their flexibility via a new blow-molding plastic machine in the U.S. With low MOQs, he said they can customize even small quantities.

    PKG Group/YonwooPKG

In Miami, PKG Group/YonwooPKG, a leader in airless packaging & dispensing solutions, showcased their One Material Pump, compatible with over 150 airless packages. Their patented, 100% polyolefin Bellows Spring Engine eliminates the need for a metal spring, making the pump fully recyclable. The One-Material Pump can be found in most popular airless packages such as Jumbos, Econ, EZ Airless, Soft Body, Tension Body, Ampoule Program, and Rimbase Series.

    ProSys

Prosys showcased its RT60 Tube Filling and Sealing System in Miami, as well as its LB30 Lip Balm Filler and HL60 Labeling System. The RT60 is capable of filling up to 70 tubes per minute. The LB30 Lip Balm Filler, a semi-automatic hot melt filling line that fills, cools, and caps lip balm sticks at a machine cycle rate of up to 30 per minute. The HL-60, designed to streamline the production of industry-standard cosmetic and product sticks, is manufactured by ProSys’s exclusive partner Pendergraph Machines.

The RT60 is a compact eight-station dial that fills a variety of tube sizes and styles. With the RT60, both plastic and metal tubes can be filled using one system.

Its hot air tube sealing technology, the RT60 offers “the fastest plastic tube sealing method,” and works with all plastic and laminate tubes with diameters ranging from ⅜-inch to 2 ⅜-inch. Swirl filling and custom fill profiles can produce effects that give products shelf impact. Unit dose filling offers the flexibility of filling small tubes on the same system.

    Qosmedix

The bio•wand from Qosmedix is said to be the industry’s first biodegradable cosmetic applicator.
Qosmedix introduced bio•wand™, “the first biodegradable disposable cosmetic applicator of its kind” at Cosmoprof Miami.

Launching this Spring, the applicator’s tips and handles are biodegradable, ensuring an eco-friendly solution from end to end. Qosmedix says bio•wand exemplifies the company’s dedication to innovation and sustainability in beauty.

Crafted from a blend of proprietary materials including Polylactic Acid (PLA), a plant-based bioplastic derived from renewable resources such as corn, cassava, and sugarcane, bio•wand offers “the same high-quality performance that professionals expect from Qosmedix,” now with a focus on responsibly sourced materials.

Available in two popular designs—a plush doe foot lip gloss applicator and a point tip eye shadow applicator—bio•wand offers an environmentally conscious alternative to traditional single-use tools without compromising on hygiene or quality.

“At Qosmedix, we’re dedicated to driving innovation while prioritizing environmental sustainability,” said Sari Sternschein, President of Qosmedix. “With bio•wand, beauty professionals can reduce their ecological footprint while maintaining the highest hygiene standards for their clients. We’re thrilled to introduce this product as part of our commitment to a greener future.”

As part of Qosmedix Cares, the company’s CSR initiative, 1% of all profits from the sale of the EQO-Friendly products, including bio•wand, will be donated to The Nature Conservancy’s Plant a Billion Trees program.

    Sanwa Israel

Sanwa Israel specializes in in-house molds and small MOQ’s of 10,000 pieces. Packaging services include mostly plastics (PCR and mono-material), but they can also source glass. The company provides standard and custom packaging, silkscreening, and printing. They also work with a filler in NJ, and pointed out that there is a free trade agreement between Israel and the U.S.

    SV Labs

SV Labs was highlighting The Launch Lab, defined as “product development made simple.” The company’s Erin Turner said that their “curated selection of expertly crafted formulas” enables brands to launch new products in as little as 12 weeks. SV Labs touts full turnkey services, speed to market, proven formulas, formula flexibility, single point of contact, and low MOQ’s, for a variety of beauty segments.

    Zacros America

Zacros specializes in flexible pouches for liquid applications.
Zacros America, a leading producer of sustainable packaging, showcased its sustainable, flexible pouches at Cosmoprof Miami.

The supplier says that pouches offer significant advantages over traditional rigid packaging, featuring an optimized product-to-package ratio and requiring less material. The pouches also produce fewer greenhouse gases during manufacturing and transportation.

Zacros produces both multi-layer laminated films and mono-material structures to address brands’ diverse sustainability requirements while maintaining product effectiveness.

Zacros offers comprehensive support to brands throughout their packaging journey, from selecting optimal materials to identifying suitable filling partners—delivering end-to-end value for brand owners.
