Albéa Cosmetics & Fragrance debuts its 'Made in North America Collection' for skincare and makeup—and Albéa Tubes showcases recycling-ready solutions, and more.
Albéa Group is showcasing several innovations at Luxe Pack New York.
Albéa Cosmetics & Fragrance is debuting its North America Collection, which includes a wide range of made-in-America packaging solutions aimed at helping beauty brands reduce their environmental impact.
The North America Collection includes lipsticks, mascara packs, mascara brushes, refillable compacts, refillable jars, droppers, and bottles. It also includes all types of dip-in applicators, from lip gloss wands to fiber mascara brushes, and these will be produced in the Albéa plant in Matamoros, Mexico—the largest cosmetics packaging manufacturing site in North America.
Albéa Tubes will also showcase several innovations. One highlight is its recycling-ready patented Greenleaf tubes, which are all-plastic laminate tubes. Albéa has invested in new equipment to produce the Greenleaf technology in its Brampton facility, in Ontario, Canada.
Also on display will be Albéa Tubes' paper-based cosmetic tube, 'Metamorphosis' paired with its Ecofusion top—a combination making its debut on the North American market at the show. The Ecofusion top design fuses the tube head and cap, achieving an 80% weight reduction versus a standard head and cap. "This solution significantly reduces virgin plastic used in the whole tube," Albea states.
Albéa Tubes' recycling-ready caps, also made in America, are another sustainable packaging innovation. The cap line makes it possible for both a tube and cap to be produced in HDPE when combined with a PE/PBL web. "This major step accelerates the acceptance of tubes as a viable component in the HDPE bottle recycling waste stream," Albea states.
