Allurice Air says its new Air One is a new type of makeup application tool that could "drastically alter the way women use makeup," the company says. It's been in the prototype stage for nearly a year, but is now launching a campaign on Kickstarter on September 19th.
Air One's base is a typical airbrush unit, but with lots of innovative features built in. Its curved design was made to fit perfectly in the hand. It has a switch with different settings that allow a user to adjust the gun to any application including eyebrows, lipstick and foundation.
The makeup is applied in dots, which mimics the way an HD camera takes pictures, to promote a natural and flawless look.
The campaign on Kickstarter is attempting to raise $15,000 by pre- selling nearly 200 units. The funds from the campaign will be used to pay the tooling costs, for molding the plastic components, as well as further develop an e-commerce site.
The company's founder, Jason Maynard, said, "I walked into Sephora and thought, this isn't right, where are all the high tech makeup gadgets?"
