Kasper Rorsted, CEO of Henkel AG, will take flight from the company later this year as he spreads his wings at the German active wear company Adidas. He is scheduled to join the company in August and will succeed Herbert Hainer as of October 1, following a two-month transition period.
Igor Landau, chairman of the supervisory board of Adidas AG, described Rorsted as “the perfect candidate,” adding: “He has extensive international management experience, having held positions with high-caliber companies such as Oracle, Compaq and Hewlett Packard. For eight years, Kasper Rorsted has very successfully headed up Henkel, a DAX company that just like the Adidas group is known for its growth, internationality and sustainability.”
Hainer has been with Adidas for 15 years but has been criticized for the company’s performance over the last few years.
At Henkel, as of May 1, Rorsted’s successor will be Hans Van Bylen, a board member who handles the company's beauty care business.
