Bobbi Brown will be leaving her own namesake brand, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, by the year's end, which comes as surprising news to the beauty industry.
Bobbi Brown Cosmetics is owned by the Estee Lauder Companies, which acquired the brand in 1995. Peter Lichtenthal, global brand president, will continue to oversee the business, WWD reported yesterday.
Brown issued a statement saying that the brand's recent 25th anniversary celebration was a milestone “that made me realize it was time to start a new chapter and move on to new ventures.”
In September, Brown personally surprised a few beauty fans in the back of Uber cars with mini makeovers.
