There are always quite a few beauty trends that start on a Red Carpet, and the 2017 Screen Actor's Guild Awards gave us a few memorable looks. There were lots of red lips, as well as pale pink nails -- and one glamorous pinup girl.
Popsugar reports on Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams, and her glam 50s pinup girl makeup, which she posted on Instagram when she thanked her glam squad. Makeup artist Kindra Mann says she gave the star a "vampy pout" with Lorac Pro Liquid Lipstick in Black Cherry and Lorac Alter Ego Lip Liner in Dominatrix.
Actress Gretchen Mol, and her makeup artist Daniel Martin, went for a more classic look, with red lips that looked elegant in Dior Addict's Lip Glow in Berry.
Nail Color by Essie
As for nail color, quite a few celebrities wore Essie nail polish. Viola Davis, star of How to Get Away with Murder, wore a bronze hue, Penny Talk. “To create a feminine yet edgy look, we chose Essie’s Penny Talk, a statement-making copper metallic, to pop against Viola’s structured white Vivienne Westwood gown,” said celebrity manicurist, Julie Kandalec.
Actress Taylor Schilling wore Essie's Bordeaux, a color that cordeinated perfectly with her gown's deep wine hue. “Essie’s Bordeaux was the perfect polish to complete Taylor’s burgundy, monochromatic 90’s look...Two coats paired with short nails kept her style cool, young and on-trend,” said celebrity manicurist, Christina Aviles.
Model Chrissy Teigen, who dressed in black, along with actresses Sophia Bush who wore a hot pink gown and Emily Blunt, who showed off her curves in a nude gown, all sported nails in different shades of pale pink.
Celebrity manicurist, Kimmie Kyees says,“We decided on Essie’s Mademoiselle (shown above) to create sexy, sheer nails that played off of Chrissy’s plunging Dsquared² wrap dress and thigh-high slit."
Celebrity Manicurist, Millie Machado comments, “Sophia and I chose Essie’s Sugar Daddy, a sweet, soft pink to create a natural nail. The polish coordinated beautifully against her dynamic, hot pink Marchesa dress."
Celebrity manicurist, Carla Kay adds, “We started by shaping Emily’s nails into a clean, classic oval shape and followed with two coats of essie’s mademoiselle for a soft wash of color. The sheer pink shade complemented Emily’s fair skin tone as well as her nude embellished Roberto Cavalli gown.”
