In support of the Prescription for Change Foundation, Rodan + Fields donated $1 for every makeup-free selfie posted on June 21st by the brand's fans, using the hashtag #RFGoNaked onsocial media. The 24-hour viral event encouraged self-esteem and confidence, the brand says.
Now in its fourth year, #RFGoNaked Day has more than doubled in participation each year. The campaign has grown exponentially with 15,000 participants in 2014 and 92,000 in 2015. Last year, more than 261,000 makeup-free selfies as well as additional donations helped raise $360,356 for youth nationwide.
Amnon Rodan, Chairman of Rodan + Fields and Prescription for Change Foundation, says, "We are passionate about helping people create life-changing opportunities through our business and our giving. #RFGoNaked Day leverages the power of social media and showcases the individual and collective impact we can have. It is inspiring to see Rodan + Fields Consultants, employees, family and friends rise to the challenge to unlock our gift or contribute their own donation to provide young people with empowerment programs."
The funds raised have supported an international school and three new buildOn programs in Chicago, Boston and New York, which empower urban youth to transform their neighborhoods through intensive community service.
