Fashion fans are anxiously awaiting the launch of Jason Wu's first fragrance - and the fragrance bottle and cap design were inspired by the look of a clutch handbag.
Although the look is less literal than Marc Jacobs' Decadence, the fragrance looks just like Wu's Fragrance Box Clutch handbag that was on the runway for the designer's fall 2017 show.
The Los Angeles Times reports that Wu said in an interview earlier this week that the bottle's design is the result of a collaboration with architect Andre Mellone. The bottle has a thick glass base and a circular gold cap that resembles the handle of Wu's new handbags.
The designer stated, “Every aspect of this fragrance represents the brand.” The nude pink color of the juice was inspired by the color of pressed powder compacts from the Fifties. The bottle color also matches the custom-designed slipdress that Lily Aldridge wore to the CFDA Awards on June 5.
Parlux will launch the fragrance in August. It was created by perfumer Frank Voelkl of Firmenich.
