Wahl is promoting its pet product line with a Dirty Dogs Makeover Gallery with before and after photos of shelter dogs that desperately needed a haircut.
Wahl has been donating its pet shampoo products to nationwide shelters since 2012. Shay Moeller, pet product manager for Wahl, comments, "We all know first impressions are important, but for shelter dogs it can make the difference between life and death. While rescue organizations work tirelessly, many dogs aren't getting properly groomed due to a lack of resources. The effects of a life on the street can often overshadow the beauty that lives inside these dogs, and too often they are overlooked by adoptive families."
To promote the gallery and help get more dogs adopted, including the ones pictured, Wahl is launching its sixth annual Dirty Dogs Contest in partnership with GreaterGood. Ten of the most dramatic transformations from the gallery have been selected to participate, and public votes will determine the top three winners. The animal shelters or rescue groups affiliated with these transformations will receive monetary grants to further support their efforts. First place takes home $5,000, second place receives $2,000 and third place earns $1,000.
The Dirty Dogs Contest runs from August 8 – 21, 2017. Fans can vote on the Wahl Pets facebook page. Winners will be announced August 22, 2017.
