Estée Lauder is celebrating the remarkable 25th anniversary of its Pink Ribbon Collection with a special offering of beauty products. Twenty percent of every purchase will be donated to research to help fight breast cancer.
The movement was started by Evelyn H. Lauder in 1992, as part of The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. October has become "Breast Cancer Awareness" month.
The brand started the campaign by handing out pink ribbons at its beauty counters around the world, and then went on to establish the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), a non-profit organization, to generate funding that would be solely dedicated to the study of the disease.
This year’s special products include:
—The Pink Ribbon Knockout Eyes Collection, an eight-piece Pure Color Envy Eyeshadow Palette, a full-size Knockout Mascara, eyeshadow brush and a mini Double Wear Eye Pencil—all housed in an attractive zip-around cosmetic bag.
—A limited edition pink bottle version of Estée Lauder’s recovery serum, the Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II (shown in photo), complete with a whimsical keychain.
—Estée Lauder Commemorative 25th Anniversary Pink Ribbon Pin, engraved with the message “celebrating 25 years,” and accented with two stones; one pink and one blue to represent the fact that for men in the U.S., the risk of getting breast cancer stands at 1 in 1,000.
