As K-Beauty continues to gain traction, Amorepacific continues to expand, bringing it closer to its goal of becoming a major player in the global beauty market—and with 2016 sales in overseas markets jumping 35%, the U.S. is becoming more important than ever.
Now, Amorepacific Group has announced the appointment of Jessica Hanson as president and general manager of Amorepacific US Inc., saying she “is joining Amorepacific US Inc. at a pivotal point in its growth trajectory to ensure that the company is keeping pace with changes in market strategies.” Hanson will be focused on overseeing all strategic marketing, sales and operations functions.
Commenting on the appointment, Dong-Hyun Bae, president of Amorepacific Group, says, "Ms. Hanson is a strong visionary leader with an excellent track record of growing beauty brands and we look forward to expanding our market share in the U.S., the world's largest market, under her leadership."
"I am honored to become a president and general manager of Amorepacific US Inc. at such a great point in time for the company," says Hanson. "Amorepacific's unparalleled commitment to research and innovation, combined with more than 70 years of heritage and development of best-in-class beauty brands, will continue to be our driving force and I look forward to elevating the company's presence in the US."
Hanson is a beauty industry veteran with more than 15 years of experience and a proven track record for delivering business performance. Prior to joining Amorepacific US Inc., she served as chief marketing and sales officer for Perricone MD, where she was responsible for the omni-channel business in the U.S. and Canada. Before that, she spent eight years at L'Oréal USA holding various leadership roles in both marketing and sales for the L'Oréal Paris and Clarisonic brands. She also held a merchandising leadership role at Sephora as DMM/vice president of Luxury Fragrances and Men's Grooming divisions.
