L'Oréal USA employees supported 200 non-profits during the company's annual Volunteer Day. More than 5,000 employees gave over 24,000 hours of service, volunteering in local communities across Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Texas.
The non-profits were all aligned with L'Oréal's corporate social missions of promoting sustainability, advancing science, and "providing beauty for all." This year's projects ranged from environmental stewardship to local youth efforts and professional coaching to empower women in the workforce.
Frédéric Rozé, president and chief executive officer of L'Oréal USA says, "At L'Oreal USA, each and every one of our employees believes that we can add value to the communities where we live and work. Our annual Volunteer Day is a beautiful expression of our personal and professional values in action. Together, we are working to make a positive impact on society and the environment."
At L'Oréal USA headquarters in New York City, employees worked with local organizations on a variety of Volunteer Day activities. Organizations included New York Cares, Hudson River Park Friends, Friends of the High Line, and the Ali Forney Center in partnership with OUT@L'Oreal, the company's LGBTQ Think Tank.
Over the month of June, L'Oréal USA employees at the company's administrative, operations and research and innovation facilities across the country are holding local Volunteer Day events to benefit an array of organizations. These organizations include state food banks, local animal shelters, hospitals, senior care facilities and educational centers for children with disabilities.
L'Oréal USA's Volunteer Day and its global Citizen Day program reinforce the company's sustainability commitment, Sharing Beauty With All, which aims to improve the environmental and social impact of L'Oréal's business across every level of the value chain -- plus, it commits the company to reduce its water, waste and carbon emissions by 2020.
