Nicki Minaj, in partnership with Luxe Brands, has launched a new limited edition fragrance, Queen -- and it is the singer's first fragrance that will be sold directly to consumers.
Queen is also the name of the 'reigning queen of hip-hop's' 2018 platinum-selling album.
Luxe Brands says it was eager to add the direct-to-consumer model to their distribution strategy.
Tony Bajaj, chief executive officer, Luxe Brands, says, "We knew with Nicki's social footprint and loyal fan base that her fans would be eagerly waiting for something new and special from the artist. This limited-edition fragrance is just the beginning of what is next to come...We will continue to keep pushing the envelope to deliver innovative fragrances to the market."
The Design
Luxe Brands describes the packaging as "dipped in gold" and "wrapped in velvet" -- and the bottle comes with a little extra "bling" for Minaj fans.
The Queen fragrance is in the same bust-shaped bottle as previous Minaj scents -- but this time it is shiny gold, and "wearing" a black wig and a gold nameplate necklace.
The bottle is also adorned with a removable headpiece that looks like "hair jewelry." It is designed to remove and wear as a bracelet.
The Fragrance
The fragrance opens with top notes of Asian Pear and Bergamot; with a creamy dry-down that includes notes of Sleek Woods, Tonka Bean, Praline, and Musk. Heliotrope is at its heart.
"I'm so excited to be launching a new fragrance for my fans. It's a special scent fit for a Queen, and for all the Queens in their lives," said Minaj.
Queen is sold exclusively at Nicki Minaj Fragrance.
