Perricone MD has launched a new 90-day system for acne -- and it is based on prebiotics.
The new Acne Relief Prebiotic Acne Therapy line consists of three products, formulated to treat the three main causes of acne -- excess oil, acne-causing bacteria, and inflammation. Other acne products typically target one cause, the brand says.
Dr. Nicholas Perricone says, "Stepping into a new category of skincare took years to perfect before its introduction."
Perricone MD is most known for anti-aging products. Dr. Perricone continues, "As an authority in powerful, clinical skincare with solutions for every aging skin concern, it is a logical progression for us to expand our reach to people suffering with young adult and adult acne. This system allows us to cater to a brand new audience."
The Products
Perricone MD's Acne Relief Prebiotic Acne Therapy line includes:
- Acne Relief Gentle & Soothing Cleanser, a non-foaming formula to thoroughly cleanse, day and night. It is formulated to reduce excess oil, unclog pores, remove dead skin cells, and eliminate debris without irritating sensitive acne-prone skin. It contains ultra-fine sucrose, to support a healthy surface skin microbiome.
- Acne Relief Calming Treatment & Hydrator is step two, mornings. The lightweight lotion contains lactic and succinic acids to support a healthy surface skin microbiome, plus citrulline and squalane to fight irritation, nourish, hydrate, soothe and visibly reduce redness.
- Acne Relief Retinol Treatment & Moisturizer is step two, nights. The lightweight formula absorbs instantly to control excess oil and helps heal blemishes overnight without over-drying the skin. It contains retinol, citrulline and niacinamide to accelerate surface skin exfoliation, calm the skin and reduces redness, and gently erase imperfections.
- Acne Relief Maximum Strength Spot Gel, to be used as needed, is an invisible gel, formulated with lactic and succinic acids, citrulline, and tea tree oil. It works overtime to reduce blemishes and prevent future breakouts by killing acne-causing bacteria, unclogging pores and absorbing excess oil.
The products are sold as a 90-day regimen for $89, with the spot gel sold separately for $19.
