Dolly Parton is finally launching a signature fragrance, in Spring 2021. Parton signed a long-term licensing deal with Edge Beauty (Edge Beauty's Scent Beauty division launched Cher's namesake fragrance, and it won a Fragrance Foundation Award.)
Edge Beauty's team will work with Parton to create, develop, and distribute the Dolly Parton fragrance collection, and it will include a multitude of formats and distribution strategies.
WWD reports that Steve Mormoris, CEO, Edge Beauty, said, "We're looking at a marketing mix that cascades from luxury to mass...looking at distribution channels that range from TV shopping to specialty retail chains..." He also revealed that the collection might include fragrance products for hair, clothes, and the home.
According to Dazed Beauty, Parton first spoke about getting into the fragrance business back in November 2019 on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. "People follow me down the street wanting to know what I'm wearing because they love the smell. So I'm going to develop my own scent," Parton told Fallon.
