TIME has revealed its first-ever TIME100 Most Influential Companies, a new list—and an expansion of the annual TIME100 franchise—that highlights 100 businesses making an extraordinary impact around the world.
To assemble the list, TIME solicited nominations across every sector—including health care, entertainment, transportation, technology and more—from its global network of editors and correspondents, as well as from industry experts. Each company was then evaluated on key factors, including relevance, impact, innovation, leadership, ambition and success.
Included on the list are Unilever, P&G and Terracycle, among others.
“We are honored to be named on the inaugural TIME100 Most Influential Companies list for the work we do to eliminate the idea of waste by developing innovative ways to recycle hard-to-recycle items,” said Tom Szaky, founder and CEO of TerraCycle. “We hope this recognition will inspire even more people to get involved and help us pave the way for a greener future."
