Jamie Matusow: Please provide a brief background on SeaCliff Beauty.
Vonda Simon: At SeaCliff, we are deeply passionate about packaging for categories such as skin care, cosmetics, personal care and wellness. Our experienced team is obsessed with trends while we pride ourselves on understanding customers’ distinct needs. With over 20 years of experience, we specialize in award-winning customized and stock packaging options along with package design and turnkey solutions.
Jamie Matusow: Why do brands turn to SeaCliff for packaging?
Vonda Simon: Brands are looking for the complete package, and that’s us. With our wealth of knowledge and experience, there is no project we can’t complete. From formulation, development and design, to packaging, fill and assembly, our full turnkey service brings brands and products to life.
Jamie Matusow: What about sustainability? What does SeaCliff offer?
Vonda Simon: As a leader in sustainable packaging solutions, we believe that environmental consciousness is essential to success in today’s world. We’ve developed the tools needed to build a sustainable packaging strategy and bring it to life through our expertise with packaging using PCR, mono-material components, bio-resins and refillable systems.
Jamie Matusow: What is the SeaCliff packaging innovation you are currently most proud of?
Vonda Simon: Our BeautiLock patented valve seal design creates an active lock with a simple twist to easily open and close the product while protecting its contents. The BeautiLock valve technology can be applied to a variety of shapes and size options including compacts, lipsticks, jars, palettes and more. The possibilities are endless.
Jamie Matusow: Does SeaCliff support any philanthropic or community-based missions in line with your business?
Vonda Simon: My daughter Jazmine was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 15. Once we adapted to her new lifestyle, Jazmine wanted to take control of her health by creating a brand that supported a greater cause. Together we created Jazmine Beauty, in an effort to raise awareness and support Diabetes Research at UCI Health.
Jamie Matusow: What plans does SeaCliff have for 2021 and beyond?
Vonda Simon: For 2021 we are continuing to expand our full-service turnkey offerings, providing brands the ability to streamline the product development process of skin care, color cosmetics, and bath + body care through our partnerships.
Jamie Matusow: In light of Covid, how do you view the future of the beauty industry?
Vonda Simon: We can expect to continue to utilize online resources and tools while working with our suppliers and customers remotely. The future of the industry may become more digital. We can expect to see more virtual trade shows and online meetings until further notice.
Jamie Matusow: What is something most people don't know about you, personally, Vonda?
Vonda Simon: I LOVE animals! I have three dogs and a rabbit, but someday hope to have a farm of my own.
Jamie Matusow: What is something most people don't know about SeaCliff Beauty?
Vonda Simon: SeaCliff came to be in 1999 with a motto of ‘service first for each and every client.’ We saw the need to build a company that stands behind all of our products and assists our clients through the entire process. Fun fact, we also formulated and filled in-house for over six years, providing our clients with a vertical integration of product and packaging knowledge, which is known today as our full-service turnkey program.
