The 16th edition of Luxe Pack New York will take place on May 16 and 17 on Manhattan’s West Side, on Pier 92, at 711 12th Avenue at 55th Street.
Organizers expect to welcome 3,900 attendees this year, including package development teams and marketing executives from major beauty brands, many of which have nearby offices. Numerous visitors also fly in from across the U.S., as well as from around the world.
There are 245 exhibitors this year, including all types of packaging suppliers and manufacturers. Packaging on display will include bottles, jars, caps, labels, boxes, bags, dispensers, sampling solutions, vials, textiles and more. Talking About Sustainability
Sustainable packaging is always a topic that generates lots of buzz, especially at Luxe Pack. On Wednesday, May 16, Beauty Packaging’s Jamie Matusow will moderate a roundtable discussion on sustainable packaging with Anne Nelson Sanford, founder of LURK Beauty, and David Luttenberger, global packaging director at Mintel.
Luxe Pack New York will present the Luxe Pack in Green Award to two exhibitors, who will be recognized for the most “green” product or initiative. Stay tuned for details.
Millennials, Influencers and More
Luxe Pack New York’s conference schedule on the show’s opening day includes discussions about experts, Millennials, influencers, and packaging design tips.
How are luxury brands embracing the “Millennial Mindset”? Jeff Fromm, president, Futurecast, and Joe Sciara, executive vice president, Barkley, will answer this question during a presentation on Wednesday, May 16th, 11am - 12 noon.
If you’re interested in how to “activate an influencer squad” on social media, attend the conference session about Influencer Marketing at 12:30pm on Wednesday. Mae Karwowski, founder/CEO, of “obvious.ly” will moderate a discussion that will feature the following bloggers and brand ambassadors: Opal Stewart, Liz Besanson and Suzanne Spiegosk.
On Wednesday afternoon, from 2pm- 3:30pm, Marc Rosen of Marc Rosen Associates will bring together experts to discuss “Packaging the Senses.” The participants are Debbie Millman, designer/author/podcaster, Google; Miranda Gordon, vice president of marketing, Mane Fragrances; Clyde McKendrick, chief strategy officer, Sparks & Honey; and Helen Murphy, vice president of fragrance, Estée Lauder.
The Aura of Luxury
Dr. Bryce Rutter, CEO/co-founder, of Metaphase will present a Keynote/Masterclass on Thursday, May 17th, 2pm-2:45pm, titled “The Aura of Luxury.” Rutter will discuss going beyond the superficial aesthetics of a product’s design to measure and calibrate a brand’s “visual and haptic signatures” for a specific target customer.
