Korea-based AmorePacific brought cushion compacts to the U.S. in 2015 and revolutionized the cosmetic foundation category. And consumer preference for the compacts has not died down since. According to Kline’s digital tracking service, Amalgam, the compacts with foundation-soaked sponges are now once again gaining in popularity, as 18 cushion compacts ranked among the foundation category’s top 600 products in March 2018, compared with 12 cushion compacts ranked among the category’s top 600 products in December 2017.
In fact, Kline reports that Missha M. Magic Cushion SPF50+/PA was the third best-selling product in the foundation category in March 2018. The product moved up 34 spots to become the highest ranked cushion compact Kline has seen to date, as more on-the-go consumers take note of the travel-sized product. Even more notable, says Kline, is that the Missha M. Magic Cushion is sold only on Amazon.
