The 16th edition of Cosmoprof North America (CPNA) will take place Sunday, July 29 to Tuesday, July 31 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
The show promises to deliver an “experience factor” to attendees, both on the show floor—with over 1,300 companies expected to participate and, off the show floor—with 40 conferences and over 70 beauty and CPG executives speaking. Visitors seeking to find inspiration can find no better place, as the event delivers a comprehensive view on trends from over 45 countries and across all beauty sectors including professional beauty.
Those looking to upgrade their formulas or packaging can find over 100 suppliers on the exhibit floor and, in the Discover Pack area, they can identify new exhibitors that have unique solutions to offer. Inspiration and insights into cool recycled materials that the beauty industry should consider will be on display on the Material ConneXion Innovation Wall, a first at this year’s event.
Also new this year will be the Power Sessions, held on the exhibit floor to give attendees brief 30-minute focused presentations on trends, along with market data stemming from research done in a traditional way as well as through social media listening capabilities.
Innovations in Packaging
Innovations in packaging will also be highlighted as part of the Power Sessions; there will be 11 sessions held on Monday July 30, including presentations by NellyRodi, Material ConneXion, BASF, Preen.ME, Peach & Lily, Kline & Co and FIDM.
Honoring innovation in packaging for a second year is the Beauty Innovation & Design Award [BIDA], a beauty-focused awards program open to the entire industry at large, featuring 11 categories. The finalists will be displayed on the show floor and winners will be announced at a cocktail event held on Monday evening July 30th at Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
During the BIDA event the organizers will also recognize the winning submission for “The Connected Beauty Product of 2050,” a competition challenge that was given to cosmetics marketing and design students at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM). The winning team will receive prize money and will be in attendance to present their project as part of a Power Session. The team will explore the exhibition alongside a beauty influencer so they can see first-hand the business networking aspect.
Sessions and Programs
Beauty Packaging will host a conference on “Fast Beauty” on Monday July 30th (see details later in this article), while other noteworthy sessions will be held throughout the three-day event, including conferences led by Buzzfeed and other consumer media titles and leading trade associations.
Attendees should definitely stop by Boutique to create their own personalized box with deluxe or full-size samples from selected exhibitors. And those interested in getting cool apps or digitally supported tools into their lineup must visit the Interactive Technology area anchored by Founder’s Factory, an accelerator funded in part by L’Oréal that will be available to meet with candidates interested in signing up for the accelerator.
These are just a handful of the programs that attendees can take advantage of while at the show. In addition, Beauty Pitch: Angel series will allow startups that pre-qualify, the ability to pitch live to angel investors for a chance to secure funding (program held on Sunday, July 29th).
Tickets for the show are on sale now at cosmoprofnorthamerica.com with Early Bird Discount ending June 29th.
Beauty Packaging Panel on Fast Beauty, Speed to Market at Cosmoprof NA
Fast to market is the new model of getting brands developed and into the hands of consumers. Long gone are the thousand days of getting a product to market. Smart beauty manufacturers are utilizing online listening tools to discern the quick-change pace of influencers and are using local U.S. based facilities to create small limited production runs—so in the timespan of a few months, the products can hit the market.
What does this mean to brand developers, suppliers and manufacturers? How can you leverage this model to develop your products faster and in a more efficient way?
Learn from case studies presented and bring your own questions to this open panel discussion. Panelists: Dimitri Katsachnias, CEO, Air Paris; Alex Fogelson, CEO & CO-Founder, Taste Beauty; Derek Harvey, co-CEO, Fusion Packaging; Sarah Jindel, Senior Innovation and Insights Analyst – Beauty & Personal Care, Mintel. Moderator: Jamie Matusow, Editor in Chief, Beauty Packaging Magazine. Session Date/Time: Monday, July 30, 2018, 3:00pm – 4:30pm
